I am a Research and Knowledge Exchange Associate at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, with a background in photonics. My primary research interests include optics, nanophotonics, optical manipulation, and beam shaping.
Previously I worked at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and in the Photonics Center at Osaka University, Japan, in the group of Prof Satoshi Kawata. I studied for a PhD in the Optical Tweezers group at University College London, UK, under Dr Phil Jones, and at the University of St Andrews, UK, for an MPhys in Physics.
I have a strong interest in outreach activities and public engagement with science and enjoy writing and blogging about the latest scientific developments.
